Director Corporate Marketing / Client Solutions New York, NY

Reporting to VP, Corporate Marketing,  this positon will be responsible for helping the corporate marketing team for Gannett to grow the business. This individual will participate in all marketing efforts including, brand (primarily trade), events and sales marketing. This role will work closely with the divisions and the national sales efforts at GCI leading the organization towards a more robust client solutions selling model – whereby we focus on bringing clients ideas that meet their business objectives while using the larger Gannett media and customer insight portfolios.  Key to this role is the understanding of the sales process – how to partner with sales from a marketing POV to help drive revenue.  In addition, this position will help with the development of new business opportunities that leverage Gannett’s assets.

This position is located in New York City  and relocation to this area would be required. 

Responsibilities:

Develop and  execute marketing communications including corporate branding, national sales efforts, advertising and events.

Create marketing elements required to support these strategies and plans.

Collaborate with sales marketing teams across all business units to develop comprehensive client solutions.

Support emerging business opportunities – developing and executing compelling, innovative launch strategies.

Build strong internal and external customer relationships. Constantly seeking to understand and solve their most critical issues.

Work with agencies and other marketing partners to reinforce GCI’s business and strategic objectives.

Work closely with corporate research and innovation team to develop insights, merchandise expertise, and identify opportunities for growth.

Partner with PR, HR and IR teams on both internal and external communications plans/needs.

Job Requirements

College degree with 8-10 years of prior experience in marketing capacity with a proven record in brand/sales marketing; MBA preferred but not required.

Person must be a creative problem-solver with strong organizational skills. 

Person must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with all divisions/departments of GCI.

Demonstrated experience building and/or significantly upgrading marketing capabilities across the various marketing disciplines as well as the ability to improve processes.

Expertise in client focused sales marketing;  proven ability to serve as a business partner to the national sales team and its clients.
