Randy Lopez Joins List of 2012 WCAA Presenters

He will be leading the discussion, “Social Mobility: Why you and your clients need to play in the social and mobile products.”

Randy Lopez, the Director of Account Services at Johnson Gray Advertising, will be joining us at the WCAA Conference in Las Vegas as one of our session presenters. He will be leading the discussion, “Social Mobility: Why you and your clients need to play in the social and mobile products.”

Lopez’s session is coming in a timely fashion. Newspaper ad departments are facing a constantly changing industry, and social media and mobile are playing a key role in those changes. Marketing and advertising, as we have known them in the past, have been turned on their head by these new technologies, changing the way readers search, discover and receive ads and consume the news.

The modern consumer wants to feel connected and engaged by their favorite (or even least favorite) brands. Social media and mobile offer them an outlet to accomplish this — to communicate with brands and discuss their satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their purchases. It’s important that brands hone in on these conversations in order to construct, develop and manage their brand image and brand loyalty.

Word of mouth amongst customers plays a huge part in constructing a brand’s reputation, and these days, word of mouth is happening on cell phones and online, giving customers a chance to speak up about brands fast and be heard by a large audience. In order to nurture their relationship with customers, brands must be present and active on social networks and effectively implementing mobile marketing strategies.

Lopez is no stranger to social and mobile marketing. Lopez has a distinguished résumé with experience working in marketing positions, including Vice President of marketing at Del Taco, Buca di Beppo and Ruby’s Diner. He also held executive marketing positions at Arnold Palmer Golf Management and TGI Friday’s.

He has lectured on marketing strategies, social media, branding and public relations. Lopez has spoken at a long list of events, including, but certainly not limited to, the National Restaurant Association Marketing Executives Group, the Word of Mouth Supergenius Conference and the UCLA Restaurant Industry Conference.

Make sure to register for the conference, September 23-26, to hear all Lopez has to say about how to effectively use social media and mobile products!
