Race for the Home

Amazing Race-style contest helps reach more potential buyers and support a cause, utilizing mobile technology to increase open house traffic and offers.

Communication tools unite as SCVNGR, Prudential Georgia Reality and HomeFinder.com host an Atlanta-based Amazing Race-type event on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Race for the Home is inviting Atlanta home-buyers to participate in a one-day, action-packed scavenger hunt to win a grand prize of $20,000. The event will also help raise funds for breast cancer awareness with the Susan G. Komen foundation.

Officials are inviting any two-person team over the age of 18 in Atlanta to join in the race. The race will involve numerous challenges at featured homes from Prudential Georgia Realty.  Racers will be given individual challenges around the listing to gain points through the race. The team with the most points at the end will receive the $20,000, which can be used as a down payment for a new home.

The scavenger hunt will be using advanced mobile technology. All of the challenges will be delivered via text message and require each player respond by utilizing their cell phones.  SCVNGR’s mobile platform is compatible with all cell phone carriers. The mobile social technology makes playing free and easy in the hunt for the house.

SCVNGR uses cutting-edge tech-nologies to bring a new platform to social media. Beyond using innovative new technologies, its also an ideal way to direct traffic through numerous open houses and produce more, and potentially higher, offers, generating more revenue to the real estate markets across the U.S.
