WCAA investigates digital obituaries
In general, there has been a disparate opinion of how to handle obituaries when it comes to the newspaper’s website. Obits continue to be among the Top 3 pages most frequently trafficked, but some newspapers are making the mistake of putting them behind a subscription pay wall. The consensus at the conference was that this was a mistake, they should be free to the public.

If you attended the WCAA 2010 Annual Conference, you saw that the topic of obituaries was almost as popular as the pages themselves. From the opening day to the closing keynote presentation from Legacy founder Stopher Bartol, attendees were treated to innovative ways of monetizing on obituaries.
