Tips to get (and stay) motivated
Motivation is internal. It begins and ends within your own perception and determination. It’s no one else’s responsibility to keep you motivated; you’re in complete control. As a sales representative, motivation is vital to your success.

Motivation is internal. It begins and ends within your own perception and determination. It’s no one else’s responsibility to keep you motivated; you’re in complete control. As a sales representative, motivation is vital to your success.  Unfortunately, people commonly mistake motivation to come merely by the aide of a muse, an external inspiration.  Keep it in you and watch your sales soar.

Plan for success Spend 15-20 minutes a day to plan for tomorrow.  Start your day with an idea of what you want to do, what you have to do and how you’re going to do it.  

Be goal-oriented Set daily, weekly and monthly goals.  Be specific so they can be measured. Write them down, and when you’re feeling discouraged remind yourself why you’re doing what you’re doing.

Spread the word Tell your family about your goals and standards so they can be your support group.

Watch your role models Get a mentor, success comes through cooperation and collaboration; don’t be a one-man show.

Write it down Record your achievements, disappointments and overall observations.  Go through your notes at the end of each month and assess your sales strategy according to what works and what doesn’t.

Condition your mind and body How you feel affects how you perform, be sure to stay at the top of your game mentally and physically.  

Be encouraging Enjoy in others’ success, be the shoulder to cry on, show you care about who you work with and it will radiate into your work ethic.

Grab a 6-pack Write down 6 people you want to call, prioritize the list, and call them.
Be a step above Decide to hold yourself to a higher standard.  Take control of your motivation.

Think about your client Realize the benefits of what you’re selling, let the advertising you’re selling be a motivator in of itself.
