Smartphones are becoming almost ubiquitous with the average businessperson and they offer apps to simplify and organize your work life. Wrapping your mind around everything that needs to get done can become a task in itself. However, we found eight apps that will help you manage your work and the stress it can incur. The App? Asana

What Does It Do? This app acts as a project management tool for those working in a team on various projects and tasks. It allows you to name the project you’re working on and then monitors and lists the activity by all users on that project — updates, follow ups and more.  The app also offers a calendar function to allow you to schedule meetings, list the attendees, take notes and provide dial-in information if it’s a remote meeting.

How Much? For less than 30 members, this app is free. For 30 members, the app is $100/month; for 50 members, it’s $300/month; and it goes up from there.

What Does It Do? Base CRM and Sales Tracking is a great app for sales reps who are constantly on the go making new contacts. It helps you gather and manage all of your leads, whether it’s during an in-person meeting or information drawn from social media. You can then organize all the emails, phone calls, files and more pertaining to that particular contact. This drag-and-drop interface simplifies the entire sales process.

How Much? Base Super is $15/month and Base Mega is $45/month.

The App? Bizzabo

What Does It Do? In the newspaper sales industry, conferences and events are commonplace. Bizzabo is a great tool for event organizers to encourage mobile networking while attending such events. The app allows the organizers to connect directly with attendees before and during the event, promote the event by way of social media and encourages attendees to promote and discuss the event on their own social profiles.

The App? Bump

What Does It Do? Bump provides an easy and intuitive way to share information with others, including contacts, calendars and files. All you have to do is open the application, select the items you want to share and then bump your phone against someone else’s phone who also uses the app. Even if you’re not looking to share information with someone else, you can also bump your phone with your desktop computer to share information and files from one device to another.

The App? CardMunch

What Does It Do? It’s a sales rep’s job to meet new people, make new contacts and follow up with them. Therefore, business cards are constantly being passed around, whether it’s with a potential client or perhaps at a networking event. CardMunch allows you to scan a business card and then create a contact based on the information on the card. What’s even better is that it also will search to find if that person is on LinkedIn and automatically connect your account with theirs.

What Does It Do? Have you ever opened up your wallet to find a clutter of crumpled receipts? If you have, you know how frustrating and sometimes overwhelming it can be, especially when those receipts are business related. Expensify simplifies the process of managing and monitoring expenses and creating expense reports. Its SmartScan function allows you to scan those receipts and processes the purchase and credit card information. The app allows you to add expenses wherever you are, including tracking your mileage and travel expenses.

The App? Remember the Milk

What Does It Do? Arguably, the very foundation of organization as we know it is the to-do list. Remember the Milk offers you a tool to create, update and cross off tasks on your to-do list no matter where you are. It also provides categories to organize your lists, so on your list for your work, you can include the time of a meeting you have to attend, while on your personal to-do list, you can remind yourself to pick up milk after work.

The App? YouSendIt

What Does It Do? This app allows professionals to access, share and store documents, presentations and video right on their phone. With YouSendIt, you can also sign documents, and upload files on to a share folder so others can instantly access them.

How Much? YouSendIt offers three tiers of services. YouSendIt Lite is free, but does not offer the full range of services. YouSendIt Pro is $9.99/month and YouSendIt Pro Plus is $14.99/month.
